The following list will work for suitcase travel to, not just backpacks. The most important thing is to not forget anything – happy travelling!
Here is a quick rundown of the main essentials if you don't have time to read the full article
  • Passport
  • Phone charger & power adaptor
  • Folding sunglasses
  • Socks & underwear
  • Sunscreen
  • Paperwork

  1. Passport

It may seem obvious, but it is definitely worth including the passport on this list! It is the most important thing you can pack and you definitely won't get very far without it. If you are travelling in between certain countries such as Europe (if you are a European citizen) you may only need your ID or drivers license but we always recommend taking a passport as well, just in case. Don't forget to have at least six months of expiry left on your passport before you leave.
  1. Phone charger

Who doesn't know the feeling when you're on the road and your phone battery dies. So avoid this feeling and bring a portable phone charger with you so you can give your phone some juice while you're on the go. A small power bank can never let you down as well.
  1. Folding sunglasses

Often when you are travelling you are going somewhere lovely where the weather is extremely pleasant. We always recommend packing sunglasses however, we recently came across Marlee Classic Folding Wayfarer sunglasses. They are absolutely perfect for travel as you can fold them into a compact size when you are not wearing them so they extremely portable and highly durable for travel.
  1. Socks & undies

This may go without saying, but it's worth mentioning that you pack enough underwear for your whole trip and we always recommend packing two or three extra pairs!

The same goes with socks, they are extremely important because they protect your feet from rubbing against your shoes, especially when you do a lot of walking on the typical holiday. We also recommend packing thick socks and ankle socks to cover all bases.
  1. Sunscreen

One of the most important things you can pack travelling is SPF sunscreen. It needs to be applied generously, so make sure you pack enough and take it everywhere you go!

It's important to remember that sometimes it may not look that sunny however, sunrays are still able to burn you so make sure you wear sunscreen even on overcast days. Factor 50 sunscreen never hurts!
